  Il male inconsapevole, di Alessio Brandolini, mi ha colpita sin dal titolo, e le mie aspettative non sono state deluse. È un libro molto intenso, che fa pensare, un libro che sommuove e che "disturba", un libro che scava. Perché Brandolini si addentra nelle zone oscure del reale e di se stesso, visita con coraggio le zone d'ombra, sfiora l'inconfessabile, va a fondo nel dolore, si confronta con la morte, la malattia, la sofferenza fisica e spirituale. Il tutto con un linguaggio accessibile, chiaro, immediato, eppure elegante, nel fluire armonioso del verso, che spesso sfocia in intermezzi di prosa poetica, in cui il difficile equilibrio stabilito dall'accordo iniziale dei versi non è rotto neppure per un istante. Prosa e poesia si alternano, senza confondersi, quasi duettano. L'accensione immediata, verticale, della poesia incontra così l'andamento più rettilineo della prosa, senza spezzarlo. E la prosa svolge l'intuizione poetica senza mai rivelarla del tutto.

È come se il poeta chiamasse a raccolta tutti gli strumenti espressivi che ha a disposizione, per tentare di dire proprio quel male che inconsapevolmente ci portiamo dentro, che altrettanto inconsapevolmente ci accade di riversare su ciò che ci circonda, lasciando che l'amore sfugga, mentre noi restiamo a guardarci vivere, a metà tra il presente e il passato, talvolta sfiduciati nei confronti di un futuro che appare nebuloso, distante, quasi inaccessibile.

Con una immagine violenta, potentemente visiva, nella bella poesia, dal titolo Con le labbra cucite, Brandolini rappresenta un silenzio che è imposizione, ma anche auto imposizione. Il limite si può varcare soltanto facendo ricorso ad una alternativa espressiva, da trovarsi nella parola scritta, che proprio dal silenzio prende avvio, per liberarsi, e liberare il suo artefice, cui è consentito "scrivere ma non parlare":

      Ho portato le labbra da un calzolaio

l'ultimo della zona a indossare

sempre un camice di cuoio

imbrattato di lucidi d'ogni colore.

Me le ha cucite per bene con un ago speciale

tanto che il dolore era davvero insopportabile

e il filo d'acciaio appena si vede

così per non parlare avremo la scusa buona

potremo starcene per sempre muti.

[...]

 

L'immagine delle labbra cucite, della condanna al silenzio, torna in nella scatola dei giochi, dove alla parola, al pensiero, si oppone il corpo nella sua fisicità, nella sua vitalità, che supera le limitazioni: "Si ribella il corpo, s'affolla di figure / implora di lasciarlo vivere / di non sprofondarlo in un sonno / di terra e ombre dalle labbra cucite".

Le labbra cucite non sono necessariamente labbra mute, bensì incapaci di lasciar scivolare fuori la verità, di dare libero corso alla volontà di chi profferisce le parole, facendo sì che la parola non divenga comunicazione: "Avremmo dovuto parlare per mesi / contraddire con milioni di frasi / le labbra serrate col filo / concedere fiducia illimitata / all'amore che scuote / i nervi e li scaglia contro il destino" (Dialoghi silenziosi)

Il dissidio tra il pensiero e la parola, tra il silenzio e la verità, è anche riflesso del contrasto esistente tra il corpo e la razionalità: "[...] Scioglimi le nudità / distoglimi dalle parole che fanno rumore // Non dalla rosa che si spoglia / dalla strada suggerita dal corpo / dichiarato inadatto a percepire / la vita che fluisce in una spina" (Il percorso dimenticato). La volontà del poeta stesso sembra essere proprio quella di arrivare a percepire la vita della spina, il segreto fluire del dolore, dietro l'apparente armonica bellezza della rosa, perché "nell'ottimismo a ogni costo c'è puzza di bruciato, di morti cancellati o nascosti. di rinuncia al sogno, a capire fino in fondo il dolore. ma la speranza è il chiodo che regge la croce, e in qualche modo rinsalda" (All'aeroporto). Affrontare il dolore significa dunque rafforzare la speranza di sconfiggerlo, la speranza che ci dona la forza per comprenderlo, alimentando il sogno, la possibilità.

Ecco allora che il poeta decide di "soffrire fino in fondo, spegnere la vista e immobilizzarsi con la coda tagliata e la pelle che cresce tra le dita" (p. 14). C'è la volontà di rimpicciolirsi, come una lucertola, di entrare nelle pieghe oscure di sé, alimentando il dolore, provocandolo quasi, portandolo al parossismo, per estrarne il grido dal corpo. Perché è il corpo che comunica, che supera il silenzio delle labbra cucite con cui nel quotidiano andiamo incontro al mondo: "Voglio stare senza di me in un vicolo cieco / con gli spilli e gli aghi infilati alle ginocchia / nelle ascelle, nel bianco degli occhi che dilaga / sulla pelle, sotto le unghie, tra i peli del pube / giusto per sostenere questo corpo privo di te / che ti cerca ma non sa come dirtelo e non parla / con gli estranei che sono tutti quelli con i quali / di solito ha a che fare e spartire questo e quello" (Cieco nel cuore). Paradossalmente, il corpo "si sostiene" soffrendo, come se solo in tal modo potesse sentire se stesso, sentirsi vivere, avvertire fino in fondo le proprie sensazioni, la nostalgia di ciò che manca, tutto lo strazio dell'assenza.

Così l'adulto, che ha già fatto l'esperienza del dolore, lo ripercorre, lo rivive, mentre il bene si confonde con il male, la bellezza con il buio, ciò che era amore con il silenzio, di cui s'imbeve la terra stessa: "sguardi innocenti raggirano l'occhio, lo scavano nel bianco della pupilla, con un cucchiaio lo estraggono dal fondo del bambino, lo strappano dal ventre dell'adulto che mangia se stesso per nutrirsi e sopravvivere. il cielo è uno strato duro e liscio sotto i piedi, riflette il bene come se fosse il male e l'azzurro del suo sguardo come fosse il buio d'un amore appeso ai sottili ganci stellari. poi ci assale la notte, divora il silenzio e alla terra fa molto male" (Dicembre 04). L'adulto "mangia se stesso", si scarnifica, si priva cioè del corpo, perché è ad esso che restano aggrappati le sensazioni e i ricordi. Ciò non significa però auto distruggersi, scendere sul fondo per restarvi, bensì giungervi in fretta, con coraggio, per poter più in fretta ritrovare la gioia, che sarà tanto più intensa quando intensa è stata la sofferenza prima: "[...] il dolore / può farti ritrovare la casa / dalle finestre spalancate / esplodere di gioia e dare una forza vera, inarrestabile" (Cieco nel cuore).

In assenza di movimento, di mutazione, il male diviene strumento di conoscenza, di una nuova esperienza, profonda e inconsapevole, del mondo: "[...] perché uso il male / come un piccone, un martello pneumatico / vado a fondo nella carne ( la mia, la nostra) / porto via il fegato, i polmoni, il cuore. // Quello che resta degli occhi" (Quello che non merito).

Così il poeta chiede al fiume, all'energia della vita, di liberarlo da se stesso, dall'intralcio della propria irresolutezza, dalla paura di andare nel buio, nell'ignoto: "Fiume oltrepassami lento, ma senza pietà aiutami a trafiggermi, a divorarmi con gusto un pezzetto alla volta" (10). Perché è nel dolore che l'uomo si riconosce, che ritrova la propria origine, l'infanzia reale o quella nostalgicamente rievocata e trasfigurata nel ricordo. Ed è nell'infanzia dei propri figli, nel loro slancio, nella confluenza del passato nel presente, nel suo proiettarsi verso il futuro, che l'uomo può vincere il male, o lasciare che sia da loro vinto, in modo altrettanto inconsapevole quanto lo è il male stesso: "Mi riconosco dall'odore umido / del latte nero munto dal dolore / dall'infanzia avuta o sognata / o quella dei figli che ti restano / accanto e scalzi entrano nel cuore / lo scavano e li ascolto corrermi dentro / sbriciolare il male con le mani e lo sguardo. / Per questo quando scrivo cancello le parole". Inutile dunque "Far finta che il male / si celi nelle immagini convulse / proiettate sulla superficie del bene" (Il percorso dimenticato). Inutile fingere che il male sia disarmonia, frattura, e che la "normalità" e l'equilibrio siano il bene. Inutile aspirare alla perfezione, alla tranquilla immobilità di una quiete apparente: "Aveva deciso di essere perfetto / però la perfezione / si sa, non è di questo mondo e spesso si lamenta / nella gabbia dei leoni apprende la sua pena. / Oggi scrive con la mano sinistra per farla più breve / non scivolare nel tepore, o nel terrore letterario. / Preferisco soffrire o andare in cerca d'un percorso / e mai con gli stessi pensieri e ogni volta resta / stupefatto e rinsecchito nell'osso che scolpisce / affusolate lastre di ghiaccio sotto il volo del corvo" (Non dirmi che non godo). Scrivere con la mano sinistra significa misurarsi, mettersi alla prova., scegliere il cammino più impervio e rischioso, rifuggire l'abitudine, esplorare e stupirsi ancora. E scegliere un percorso mai battuto comporta andare incontro al rischio di soffrire, superando la tranquillizzante staticità del già noto. La tentazione sarebbe quella di restare, di cercare un appiglio, ma ancora il corpo disobbedisce, allenta la presa, si lascia cadere: " - il continuo susseguirsi di ferite e mutilazioni non è un gioco. coesisti a fatica con la perversa illusione di sottrarti ai colpi, agli attacchi del destino. resti immobile negli anni senza fare troppe acrobazie. ti attacchi dove puoi però ci sono mani che allentano la presa" (All'aeroporto).

Superata la tentazione di abbandonarsi alla quiete sempre uguale dell'immobilità, l'uomo va necessariamente incontro a nuove esperienze e sofferenze, perché "Sono piedi e mani a reclamare la voglia / d'esistere e non stare bloccati sul ponte / tra persone distanti che non si conoscono / a scrutare barche affossate all'orizzonte" (Quasi una laguna). Sottrarsi alla sofferenza è dunque impossibile, come lo è liberarsi del tutto dalle scorie del dolore riportate in luce dal ricordo: "la polvere che ogni volta riemerge dalla stanza / prende coraggio e senza sforzo plana sugli oggetti" (Le mani a digiuno).

Accettare la nostalgia che viene dal ricordo, battere sentieri sconosciuti, rischiare ancora significa esistere appieno, sottrarsi alla pirandelliana attitudine del "vedersi vivere": "e quando mi vedo vivere mi buco gli occhi, rimpiango / il pane da spartire con gli altri: gli amici di un'altra era" (Solo per vederti sorridere).
